To gain access to the filter you will need to open the clamp between the base unit and the lid.
Once this clamp has been removed you will be able to remove the lid; this may be tight to begin with.

Below the foams there is a section filled with black plastic pieces; this is thefilter’s bio media.

Be careful when removing this piece as the bulb occasionally falls from this fitment; this can be easily retrieved from the bulbs housing; the quartz sleeve.

There are three hosetails to be fitted to the filter unit. These are supplied with the unit and are identical; there placement offers differing functions.
(1) This in the inlet valve, located to the front of the unit and at the highest point. The hose from the pump needs to be attached here.
(2) This is the outlet valve, again located to the front of the unit, and below the inlet valve. The hose that is attached to this will be re-circulating back in to the pond.
(3) This is the dirty outlet and is located
to the rear of the unit. This allows the (3) water to leave the unit whilst the cleaning
function is in use. The hosetail for this
outlet needs to left in situ but the hose can
be fitted permanently or when required.

Operating the filter
The filter has two main functions; filter and clean.
The handle to the top of the lid allows you to change between this functions.
This is operated by pushing the handle down to create a pivot which will then allow the handle to swivel between the functions.
Please note that the handle may be hard to move to begin with but this is normal and due to this being a new unit.
