How often should I have my pond serviced?

Most ponds benefit from a professional clean and maintenance visit every 4–6 weeks, especially during warmer months when algae and debris build up quickly. We offer flexible monthly maintenance plans to keep your pond clear, balanced, and healthy all year round.

Can you help if my pond water turns green or cloudy?

Absolutely. Cloudy or green water is a common issue and usually easy to fix. We can test your water, check your filtration setup, and recommend the best treatment to restore clarity, or include it as part of our regular pond maintenance service.

Yes, we do! While we love meeting our local customers in person, we also deliver Koi and pond supplies nationwide. Every fish is carefully packed for safe, stress-free transport, and our team can offer advice on how to acclimate your new arrivals once they reach you.

What’s the best food to feed my Koi?

We stock a wide range of high-quality Koi food for every season and size of fish. Generally, a protein-rich diet in summer and a wheatgerm-based food in winter works best. Pop into our Bristol shop or give us a call and we’ll recommend the right food for your pond setup.

Can you visit my home to check my pond?

Yes, we offer on-site pond assessments in Bristol and surrounding areas. Whether you’re experiencing a filtration issue, fish health concern, or just want a professional check-up, we can come out, assess your setup, and recommend the best course of action.

What happens during a pond clean or maintenance visit?

During a maintenance visit, we’ll check your filters, water quality, pumps, and fish health, then clean debris, trim plants, and top up water levels if needed. We also provide a short report with advice on keeping everything running smoothly between visits.

Can my Koi stay outside during winter?

Yes, most Koi are hardy enough to stay outdoors year-round, as long as your pond is deep enough and well-aerated. We recommend using a pond heater or aerator to prevent the surface from freezing and to maintain healthy oxygen levels through the colder months.

Do you do Koi rehoming or rescue?

Yes! Plenty of koi offer this service. Moving home or closing down your pond. We turn up and drain down your pond to around 600mm to catch any fish. Then they are transferred in aerated containers.
